~Pushing Buttons~

Isn’t it amazing that you can be kind and loving to one person and within moments, bite someone else’s head off? Of course, you tell yourself it was totally their fault! You allow yourself to believe that it was the way they spoke to you or looked at you. It may seem to be true that while you are on your best behavior with some people, other people seem to bring out the worst in you. Some people really know how to push your buttons! That’s right. Your buttons! How you respond has nothing to do with anyone else. It’s all about YOU!

1Pe 5:8 Be sober (discreet), be vigilant (awake and watching); because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking (in a bad sense to plot against life) whom he may devour (to gulp entirely).

Your greatest adversary or enemy is also your greatest teacher! Like it or not, it is the job of certain people to bring out the worst in you. What they trigger is already in you. They have come to teach you what you are capable of doing when you get triggered, when your back goes up, when your claws come out. They have come to give you an opportunity to heal. These people love you so much they have taken time out of their lives to come into your life to ruffle your feathers so that you can go within and heal. It may not feel like a wonderful experience, but just knowing that someone can get on your last nerve, can shake your foundation, can look into your kitchen and see your mess means that you have something that needs to be healed. Don’t waste your time being mad at them. Be about the business if healing yourself. 2Ch 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong (to fasten, seize, strengthen, cure, help, repair) in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect (peaceable, especially friendly) toward him[God] . . ..”

In the past, you may have believed that it was perfectly fine to be nice sometimes and wicked at others. Starting today, thank everyone and anyone who can push your buttons. Realize that they are providing you with a wonderful and divine opportunity for healing!

Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

James 5:16, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

1 John 2:11, “But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.”

Psa 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
