Embrace the cracks~

Have you ever been rejected? How did it make you feel? Life is about going for things. And when we do, rejection is always a possibility. Feeling rejected is the opposite of feeling accepted. But being rejected (and we all will be at times) doesn’t mean someone isn’t liked, valued, or important. It just means that one time, in one situation, with one person, things didn’t work out.

Rejection hurts. But it’s impossible to avoid it altogether. In fact, you don’t want to: People who become too afraid of rejection might hold back from going after something they want. Sure, they avoid rejection, but they’re also 100% guaranteed to miss out on what they want but won’t try for. With rejection comes self blame. Self-blaming or put-down thinking can exaggerate our faults and lead us to believe stuff about ourselves that simply isn’t true. This kind of thinking crowds out hope and a belief in ourselves — the very things we need to get past feeling bad and want to try again.

DO NOT DO IT! You will have peace when you accept that things are the way things need to be. STOP trying to be perfect! Stop it right now! Stop trying to fix yourself! Change yourself! Stop trying to do everything just so. Stop trying to improve every little thing so that everything about you will be perfect. Stop trying to impress people with just how perfect you are. Stop making up stories about how perfect your life is. Stop looking for little imperfections so you can perfect them. Stop making excuses for the things you think are imperfect. The quest for perfection is a waste of time and energy. It is a quest that closes your mind and your heart to the beauty that is all around you. You can be so preoccupied perfecting the cracks in you that you fail to realize the light comes through the cracks!!!

Remember the words of the famous author Ernest Hemingway, who said, “Not everything that appears to be broken needs to be fixed. In fact some of us are strong in the broken places.!! In other words, everything need not be perfect in order to be divine!!! This includes you and myself!!!

Just like myself; you may have held perfection as the standard that you needed to live up to or achieve. Accept that you are perfect just as you are! EMBRACE THE CRACKS IN YOUR LIFE and BREAKS in your HEART as places into which Gods light can shine!!

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) “We are God’s workmanship.”
Isaiah Chapter 68 verse 8: Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter, we are all the work of your hand.

Psalms 34:16 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

  1. Appreciate the reminder that God loves us as we are. That’s the beginning. God opens cracks or fills them in as needed in the divine love that take us places in the Spirit we cannot even imagine. As a gardener I know that cracks in the hands simply show we’ve worked hard. Kinda gets one thinking…
