Fire Starters!!

Do you know people who love to start trouble? who tell half truths? make up stories? gossip? tell full blown lies? Anything to get attention! I like to call these people fire starters! Miserable people who love company!

Titus 3:10-11 – 10 Warn troublemakers once or twice. Then don’t have anything else to do with them. 11 You know that their minds are twisted, and their own sins show how guilty they are (CEV).

“That person is nothing but trouble!” I’ve heard this phrase countless times, and I’ve even said it before myself. Maybe you have been called a troublemaker. Troublemakers come in all shapes & sizes, and causing strife is not age or gender sensitive. Many people cause more problems than they solve, but nobody is nothing but trouble. Everyone has the ability to change with God’s help. If you are someone who stirs up trouble, or knows of someone who causes a lot of it, please pay careful attention today.

If you are reading this & you are a troublemaker, let this serve as a warning to you. The Bible says that God is just, and he will pay back trouble to those who cause trouble (2 Thessalonians 1:6). I don’t know about you, but I get myself into enough trouble as it is. I certainly don’t need to set myself up for more difficulty.

Also, if you are known for causing problems, don’t be surprised when people start distancing themselves from you. Most people have enough to deal with. They’re not going to add to their troubles if they can help it. Troublemakers are expendable.

The Bible also says to warn those who cause trouble no more than twice. If you know people who frequently create problems for others, don’t constantly harass them or point out their errors. Ask God whether to warn the person once or twice. Then if the person continues to cause strife, cut off the relationship.

God does not want you to bring judgment to troublemakers. Do not drag their names through the mud, or try to expose them to others. Have nothing to do with them! Causing trouble for a troublemaker will only cause you more trouble. Their minds are unstable, and they are self-condemned. Leave it in God’s hands because He alone is just.

Proverbs 12:21 – Good people never have trouble, but troublemakers have more than enough (CEV).
